Third Week of Zone Cleaning Challenge

Well, I have hit the kitchen this week - had a few drawers and a cabinet to tackle...this spilled over into the pantry and ended up at Target! I've made a few purchases this week...oops! Oh, well - here's the cleaning...well, some of it. We were supposed to spend 15 minutes a day. I spent 15 minutes on each of these projects - but I did a little "extra credit" by rearranging my whole kitchen - cleaning out the pantry and reorganizing EVERYTHING!

A MESSY BAG DRAWER BEFORE:

WALLA! A CLEAN DRAWER - WITH TWIST TIES IN A GLADWARE:

THESE LIDS DRIVE ME NUTS!

SO THEY HAD TO BE MOVED, INSTEAD I HAVE MORE BAGS:

THIS IS WHERE THOSE BAGS LIVED BEFORE...TOO MUCH SPACE:

I TOOK SOME BAKING SUPPLIES FROM THE PANTRY AND CLEARED SOME SPACE FROM THERE:

AND FOR THE BIGGEST CHEAT I'M GOING TO ADMIT TO THIS WEEK...THE TUPPERWARE CABINET FROM HELL...
(MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER DOES DISHES - SHE WASHES, WIPES, THROWS THEM IN AND CLOSES THE DOOR QUICK.)

SOLUTION? I TOSSED IT ALL! (NOT "TOSSED" REALLY, I'M DONATING IT TO A FRIEND.) IT GOT RID OF THAT FRUSTRATING LID DRAWER FULL OF MESS AND THE MESS IN THE CABINET. I BOUGHT THE NEW RUBBERMAID THAT HAS THE LIDS THAT SNAP ON THE BOTTOM, SO YOU STORE THE LIDS AND CONTAINERS TOGETHER. I BOUGHT JUST WHAT I NEEDED AND I NOW STORE THEM WITH THE BAKING PANS IN MY PANTRY. NEATLY. I TOOK THE EXTRA BAKING STAPLES (I HAVE THE STUFF I USE DAILY IN CANISTERS...THESE ARE THE EXTRAS I FIND ON SALE) IN THIS CABINET NOW.

AND, NOW MY PANTRY IS CLEANER THAN EVER, TOO.
The organization went on all week. I stopped at Target and got bright colored canisters and a bright red metal breadbox and my baker's rack is all clean and tidy now, too! Mike was all for it - he's Mr. Neat, so anytime I'm on an organizational binge, he's pretty supportive! :)
Now, what will I attack for my last week of this challenge? You'll have to wait until next Friday to find out!

Wow, nice work!! Doesn't it feel good? :) I finally got rid of all our mismatched tupperware too and bought a couple of boxes of the same stuff so now everything stacks so nicely...it's the little things. :)
Have a great weekend!
