The kids are home from school today, and I am forever grateful that they have summer vacation and not winter vacation...especially if today is any indication of what winter vacation would look like! The kids woke up late - really late, even for them! They both have croupy coughs and are all stuffed up, so I let them sleep late and lay around all morning. They took turns using their shared computer and watched t.v. until 2pm, when I took Aaron for a haircut. That is the most activity either of them has had, because neither of them are allowed to go outside and play...remember, they are semi-sick and we live in Wisconsin...therefore, it is currently snowing (of course) and cold. It is 3:45 and I am really looking forward to them going back to school tomorrow. Not because they're being annoying - they have really been behaving pretty well (except for the occasional argument over who gets the remote), but they are not well enough to do ANYTHING PRODUCTIVE and it is taking every ounce of strength for me not to have them doing chores right now. School is a good place for them. Really. At least, in the summer, they can be outside running around, biking, or going to the lake.
Thanks for letting me vent. I'm better now.
On a positive note, when I took Aaron to get his haircut, I finished the book "The Memory Keepers Daughter." It was okay. I give it a B-. Drama, secrets. No Jodi Picoult contender (she's my favorite author), but it was pretty entertaining. I am going to give it to Goodwill if nobody wants it. Do you? The first person to comment, saying they want it, can have it. If you are the first person, then email me at mpbixler@baldwin-telecom.net and give me your address. I'll mail it to you. Books can be expensive if you purchase them full price. Truthfully, I do purchase books from a department store occasionally, but not very often - I probably got The Memory Keepers Daughter at a garage sale or from a friend. So, I'll gladly pass it on. :)
Have a great day. I need to go start my White Chicken Chili and breadsticks. Yum.

Oh I'm so sorry they are sick! I woke up at 4am and had the wonderful experience of spending the rest of the morning with my face in the toilet bowl. Ugh, good thing I didn't eat anything gross yesterday.
Miss you!
Oh, Shelly! Sorry to hear it! Miss you, too! Hope you feel better soon!
Excellent weblog, keep up the good work. I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,
A definite great read…

I'm sorry the kids are home from school today. Everytime mine are home it throws the whole day off! Have you seen the movie The memory keepers daughter? I saw it on Lifetime, it was pretty good! I hope tomorrow is a great day :o)
