I've been looking at white for months now. All our walls are white - except in our basement, where Mike has painted our newly constructed walls. (After he does the trim and the ceiling, and we furnish the basement and the big screen t.v. and surround sound are installed, he has PROMISED me that room by room, we will paint this upstairs with some color. When we moved in, it was all flat white. Now, it's dirty flat white.) And, outside, there are inches and inches of white snow and ice. With the sun shining, it is almost blinding.
It is no wonder that I love to surround myself with splashes of color. Bright color. Want to see some of my favorites?
Most of our furniture and color schemes throughout our living areas are neutral colors - beige, chocolate, tan, off-white. I like to add little zings of primary colors to surprise people.
I'm currently looking for bright red, big pillows for my sofa. Cheap - I'm also a bargain hunter! I saw some at a thrift sale this summer, and I didn't pick them up - I've been kicking myself ever since. Why do I DO that? They were $5!!!! I could have given them away if I decided not to keep them! I have a chocolate leather sofa - they were red velvet, with cream accents. They were beautiful. Why do I DO that? I did that twice this Christmas season - I thought I'd come back later to pick something up if I really wanted it...and twice I came back and the item was no longer there. Ugh. You think I'd learn.
I think I DID learn. If I see bright red pillows again - that are big and pretty and go with my sofa, I'm going to pick them up!

I love the colors in all your beautiful things in the picture!!! I should have known you were colorful :o) I hate when I don't buy something as soon as I see it. That happened to me after Christmas, I saw this awesome plastic container that holds Christmas ornaments (round balls). It was $5 and I told Dewayne that I would just get it next time if I really wanted it. I went back to the store within a few hours and there was no more left!!! I was so mad at myself for doing that! I hope you find some pretty Red pillows for your couch :o)
I love all the colors!! We have the same thing going on, our walls and furniture, etc are all nuetralish...browns, creams, dark greens, then lots of splashes of color! I like it that way, then you can switch out the colors without buying a whole new $2000 couch! :) Aren't you LOVING our heat wave, today is beautiful!
Funny you should post this today because I have been thinking about painting around my house too. I wish it was just a matter of picking the right color and blinking and then it was all painted. LOL Have you picked out paint colors for your walls yet?
MIke built a family room that we painted a mustard yellow, and hall and bedroom that we painted a sage green in the basement - upstairs we'll probably go with a beige with yellow undertones and a dark tan/light brown. We also have bedrooms, which will depend on how we decorate them. My daughter wants bright lime green. We'll see. I'd love apricot for my kitchen - I have a bunch of cafe' signs and coffee motif things, and signs everywhere (I love words...I'm a writer.).
Beautiful colors, I need to get more color in my house! :)
