Our family has been really lucky this year. Except for a few minor sniffles, and maybe a cold bug here and there - we've escaped most of the horrid bugs spreading throughout our area this season...and there have been quite a few!
But this morning, as my pal Shelly and I were in Stillwater scoping the Goodwill for Green Tag Treasures (all Green Tags today - $1.49...it's the $1.49 game...with Pennie and Shelly!), I got a call on my cell phone - Hudson Middle School: "We have Aaron in the nurse's office. He is complaining of a headache, body aches and he says he has a stomach ache." Well, folks if Aaron is in the nurse's office, he's sick. He's NEVER gone to the nurse's office. Aaron would rather pull all his fingernails off than have to talk to a teacher to get a pass to go the nurse's office. Aaron is shy.
So, that ended Shelly's and my $1.49 game...for this week, anyhow. Sigh. (Well, being the good mother I am, we gave the store one good, quick scan first, before we paid for our stuff and bolted out - it's not like the kid was being transported by ambulance to the hospital!)
Ever since I brought the boy home, he's been snoring on the sofa. Poor guy. He looked awful. It's kind of nice when they're teenagers and home sick - I can still go to the gym and run my errands without arranging for a sitter, and now that he's feeling down and out he lets me baby him by fawning all over him (without annoying him...or vise versa) - making him cookies and soup (without some kind of comment about them), talking to him (and having him quietly listen) and keeping him company. I'm not on his case to clean his room or do his homework (not that I ever would - wink! wink!), because I feel sorry for him right now. I just want to make him feel better.
Yes, this is good...for now, anyhow. Let me have my moment.
The glass is half full for the time being. (You can remind me of this when I'm cleaning out the puke bucket, k?)

Poor Aaron, I hope he feels better soon. I love how my boys become big ol'Mamma's boys when they are sick :o)
I hope he feels better soon and you manage to avoid getting what he has.
