Snow Day!

Snow Day! School's cancelled! First one of the year! Bridgette and Aaron are excited...though they show their excitement differently (Aaron is on the computer downstairs and Bridgette is celebrating by building a snow fort...for four hours now!)

I am baking today. I originally planned on doing my baking AND wrapping, but since the kiddies are underfoot, I don't want them to see what I'm doing. (They think their gifts are at a girlfriend's house...they may be sneaky as a fox, but you can't outfox Mom! Their gifts are in my closet...UNDER all the gifts for the nieces and nephews and grandma and others...) :)

So, today I'm baking up a pan of bars for Teacher Appreciation on Friday (love those teachers!), and all my Hershey Kiss Cookies for the cookie exchange I'm in. And, more Harvest Loaves, because that's what the holidays are made of...my freezer will be full! And, my baking will be done! Ahhhh....I like that! (And, dinner's in the crockpot, so I can bake on through till dinnertime...)

So, I'm going to chase Aaron outside to snowblow the driveway soon. After that, both kids are going to get some grilled cheese and home made hot chocolate on this snowy, blowy day. It's still coming down in my neck of the woods! In Madison, Wisconsin - where my niece Jackie lives - they got 18 inches of snow last night. Wowza! Now THAT'S a snow day! I'll bet we got about 5-6 inches, and they're predicting another 2 or 3 before the day's over. We'll see...

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...

I wish it was snowing here!! It is supposed to reach 72 degrees today. Snow would make it feel much more like Christmas time. You are such a good Mommy, baking and making this snow day into a wonderful day for the kids.

I wish we would get some snow too! It snowed for like 5 mins the other day B was so excited but it never stuck. Snow always gets me in the Christmas mood.

We have a lot of blowing around, and we're seeing some snow, but nothing of consequence. I was hoping to get more so I'd get in the spirit, maybe (FINALLY!) drag out my tree!

We had snow over the weekend with a 2 hour delay on Monday. We loved the snow, but I wish it was during the school week. Enjoy the rest of the day.

My daughter just mentioned to me this morning... "It's so wierd, we haven't had an ice day yet this year." We aren't so lucky to get a good snow... we get ice. Lots of ice!
