It's 18 degrees outside this morning! Can this be right???? Ugh. Summer really is over, isn't it? (I've been in denial for a while...)
I'm cookie baking today a little bit. I didn't get the cookies baked I had planned to yesterday. I got the batter made and put in the fridge to stiffen - just not rolled and baked. So, that's the plan, Stan. (Or, shall I say, "Jan"?)
I've also got to clear out a spot for the Chrismas tree. Our house has been going through a remodeling project. For a while. This is the second winter. Why has it taken so long to finish our unfinished basement? Because my husband is doing it in his spare time. Of which there is almost none. Get the picture? But, when this project is done, our previous unfinished basement will be another bedroom, family room with home theater, bathroom, storage room and workshop for hubby. I can't wait! (2010 is the year it gets completed - I can feel it!) Then, we will have an extra bedroom upstairs for overnight guests - which we often have.
But, because the downstairs is in disarray, some pieces of furniture that will eventually be down there are upstairs, crowding us out. The kitchen is crowded with extras (computer on a card table in the corner). The main bath has an end table shoved into it...just until the basement's done. The specific piece I'm dealing with today is our big Lazyboy in our living room - that will go down into the family room once it's finished. It's a beast of a thing - and, added to our already abundant pieces of living room furniture, it's a wonder we can move around in our living room at all. I'm going to have to move the beast out of there if we're going to have a Christmas tree in the living room. (The only other choice is the bathroom, and that's rather unconventional, don't you think?)
So, I think I'll be schlepping that beast into...Aaron's bedroom for the balance of December. Aaron has now joined the "Too Much Furniture In My Room Club". Lucky guy!
Oh, well - truth be told, once Aaron finds out I made cookies for Sunday's tree trimming, he won't care about anything else.

Cookies make everything alright!
Hang the tree from the ceiling! I have seen it done several times and it's actually pretty cute!
Ugh it is so hard to live in a construction zone, especially during the holidays. I'm sure you will make it look great in there anyway :o)
Cookies always make everything better! :)
I know, it's COLD!! I think we live really close to each other, are you east of the cities? Hope the cookies made everything better! :)
