Yesterday, I posted that when I was home for Christmas we celebrated my sister's 50th - which was December 28th (yesterday). So, I called my sis Deanna last night.
I wished her a happy birthday.
And she was silent.
And I remember that this isn't the first time I've done this.
We have many December birthdays in our family.
"It's not your birthday today is it?"
She said, "Nope." with a laugh.
I came back with a quick recovery. "I meant to say, wish Beth (her college aged daughter) a happy birthday for me, and let me be the first to wish YOU a happy birthday - since your birthday is tomorrow the 29th!"
We had a good laugh, and then about an hour and a half phone call - which is short, for us. After all, we had just seen each other Christmas Eve!
Well, I'm glad I got that straightened out! Because Deanna's birthday is also my sis-in-law Carrie's birthday. At least I'll call her on the right day with birthday wishes!
