Funny thing about prayer.
It works!
I called my doctor yesterday, because my back went out, and I was afraid it was an ovarian cyst again pressing on my spine. Or, it could be my bum back. But, my doctor was booked all Thurs. and Fri, (she's really good - and always booked for weeks out!). And she's off next week. Sigh. I refuse to see anyone else. I know it's silly. I just don't like seeing another doctor. They treat you for something differently than your regular doctor would, and then when you DO get transferred to your regular doctor, she has to undo what the other doctor has done...it's happened before. And I totally love my regular doctor. I trust her. She's always been right on when diagnosing and treating me.
Well, yesterday, my back went totally out. I was in so much pain I could hardly breathe. I knew what I needed - pain killers and muscle relaxants. I know the drill. I've done this before. And, I wanted her to check and make sure there were no cysts on my ovaries.
I prayed that if I was supposed to go in, that there would be an opening - which would truly be a miracle. Guess what? The nurse said that my doctor was booked....but wait! There was a cancellation at that very moment! Could I make it to the clinic in 20 minutes? You bet I could! That was an answer to my prayer.
And, come to find out - no cyst. Whew! But, my back is in bad shape. I got muscle relaxants and pain killers. Hopefully, I can beat this by Christmas.
I have two Bible studies to write before then...hopefully I can think them through all the muck that my brain has become while on Flexerall and Percoset. Otherwise, I will be teaching some interesting theology! (Don't worry...I have a proofreader and a seminary teacher/pastor who looks them over before they ever make it into the hands of my Directors!)
So, thanks to those of you who said you'd pray. I can't believe that me getting that appointment was an accident. Weird. I know prayer works...but sometimes it still suprises me when it does! :)
