And unpacked. Refreshed. Rejuvenated.
Man-I needed that! Now, for just a few pictures. Bear with me. We had this retreat at the Embassy Suites. These are two of my board members (and friends) Dara and Melissa greeting our women and giving them their nametags (that we MADE! aren't they cute?) and registering them.
These cupcakes were a big hit. Melissa made these - they had chocolate filling!!!! And, we put them on top of those wine glasses with ribbon and tulle...it was SO PRETTY! 
This is Heather and I - Heather is about to pop...by that I mean she is VERY pregnant (and weighs about 1/2 as much as I do right now...lol...) isn't she cute??? I wanted to show my dress - the rest is just a below the knee - but isn't the top cute? And the necklace is a crystal one my dad gave my mom when they were dating...and now my mom gave me!
Oh, and here's me...always the talker!!! I have a bunch of shots of me talking - do you know how hard it is to get a pretty shot of yourself giving a speech? Well, of me, anyhow???? It was pretty slim pickin's! Some were downright hilarious! I have some funky facial expressions when I speak!
Oh - and this is that pretty dress I bought for Saturday's festivities. Isn't it cute???? I know I look (I won't say chubby, because Jen will say not - even though yes) fluffy, but this is a bad angle...I gotta believe I looked a tad bit slimmer than this. Denial works for me!
There were plenty of inspirational speakers, music and serious things - we celebrated the "SAMmy's Sister phenomenon" which is kind of like a guaranteed BFF acceptance just because you're there. We did an annual interactive activity called our "SAMmy's Challenge" that didn't leave a dry eye in the house. (Luckily, those who lead with me - people you see commenting here like my friend Cathy and Kris Ann from Moms on Fire create some of these activities and lead them with the same passion as I do. Their hearts come through...but sometimes it leaves the women in puddles of sentimental or thought-provoking tears...and this year was no different with the SAMmy's Challenge!)But, just in case you thought we were a little too intense...

You looked so beautiful!!! I love the Saturday dress and you do not look chubby or "fluffy" or anything else....you look great!!! BTW, I think it is hilarious that you are using the word fluffy because that is my word :o)

I'm glad to hear that you had a good time and I am even happier to hear that you are feeling better!!! That is wonderful news!!!
I am leaving for Minnesota tomorrow and I am not sure how it's going to go. We are staying at a hotel tomorrow night and then we have to be at the airport by Tuesday morning at 11 am. I have no idea if Dewayne is planning on staying or leaving when he gets us to the hotel and I have no clue what time we are going to get there.
I'm not sure that we are going to be able to meet up but I will keep you posted and let you know what is going on :o)

Pennie~ I LOVE the pink and white dress!! love it! You look so pretty! ;) The retreat looks wonderful! LOVE the noses! I wish I could have been there~ and the name tags and cupcakes... VERY cute and yum! I am SO glad you are feeling better! how long do they expect the treatments to last? will you do them again?

I have been waiting to hear/read something about the retreat!!!
I remember the first one I went to...the Warrens one. We had to leave early but it was such a blast.
Then the second one I went to (last year) at Embassy....oh how that one made me new again....
This year I am sad that I couldn't make it. I still was thinking of you guys all weekend and am glad that it went well.
I say next year, we figure out how to video some of the speakers....I think it'd be amazing to be able to share that at the SAMmy's during the week for the women who weren't able to attend.
Looking forward to joining up again... and yes, girl, you are a bombshell :)
