My BIL just called. He looked at my MRI and said that they are definitely on to something - it looks like an autoimmune disorder. The lesions are there. He said that they cannot call it "MS" officially until there's a second flare-up - because, remember, this could be a one-time flare-up (please let it be!).
He also said the good news is that there really aren't a TON of lesions. This looks to be a more mild case than a severe one - which is not what I was led to believe.
Whew!
Now, I need to wait for the spinal tap and blood tests to confirm for sure that this is, indeed, demyelinating disease which will be MS if another flare up happens.
So, we wait for next week...and then for this flare-up to go away...and for another to (possibly) return. Which, my BIL tells me, usually happens within 1-2 years.
There must be a reason this happened to an antsy person who probably needs practice waiting.
This disease is all about waiting.
Can you sing the Jeopardy song with me? Dum-dum-dum-dum Dum-dum-dum...Dum-dum-dum-dum DUM Dee-dum-dee-dum-dee-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum-dum...Dum-dee-dum-dum

Are we there yet?

So far it sounds like good news. I will keep praying for more good news! Hopefully the second flare up never happens and you have to wait forever :o)
Take care as you and your family wait.
I was surprised to hear about all your tests and hope the rest bring good news. Take care of yourself and I will include you in my prayers.
Praying you continue to receive even more encouraging news!
Oh Pennie, this is so encouraging! This take is so much more positive than the initial info received.
You'll stay in my prayers!
Very encouraging news! Relax and enjoy your family this weekend! loved the last post about enjoying those who are dear to you! Good plan! ;) Hope the sun shines on you this weekend!

Well that's a little bit lighter news, not so heavy. I'm sure the "waiting game" is going to drive you nutso though. I guess all there is to do is to LIVE LIFE :) If anything it'll make you fill up your days with all those things you're scared to put off "just in case", and that can be a good thing.. Maybe you'll go sky diving, or bunjee jumping or something crazy like that right?
Had a beautiful lunch with you girls today. I have more to say about that but I'd take up all your comments if I posted here.
love,
Shelly
