Go on over to Five Crooked Halos and Mama M will show you the ropes, so you can join the blog hop!
Here's our questions for today:
1. How much time do you spend on the computer a day?Probably too much - so I'm trying to spend less leisure time on the computer. I set a limit...I write my blog in the morning (or, if I have a morning meeting, then after that) and then I check my email. I have a core group of bloggy buddies I usually check in with. I also usually check in with anybody who comments on my blog. (I am not so popular that this is a big job - usually only a few people!) I also check my blog once in the afternoon, and maybe once in the evening.
The problem is, when I am writing (my job) for hours, the temptation to check my blog (and my inner circle of bloggy friends') more often can be really addicting!
So, I'm trying to set a time limit! We'll see how THAT goes!
2. Will you pay for your children's college or raise them to pay for their own way?
Our kids have been saving 20% or more of everything they ever earn/receive since they were born. (They also have donated 10% to church/charity.) Their savings will go toward college. They both have really good grades, so we're hoping that pays off in partial scholarships/grants. We are prepared to help out if their grades continue to remain above average. But, they will work throughout high school and college and that money will go toward college...a heck of a lot more than 20%! They won't get college money handed to them.
3. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Yes. Twice. Both times when I was in my early twenties (twenty+ years ago). One, my brakes failed and I went through a stop sign and a truck hit me. I escaped without a scratch, by the grace of God.
The other, I was coming around a corner in winter weather. Another car was coming in the opposite direction in my lane. I slammed on the brakes (don't ever do this on ice) and my car careened off a 12-foot embankment, did several somersaults through the air and on the ground. The person sped off, but a man a ways behind him saw the whole thing. I bounced on the roof of the car, busted out the windshield and all the windows, then snapped the axles and landed right side up. The front tire was on the hood in front of me. The man who saw it all climbed down the embankment, over a fence and into a field where I was and brought me to a nearby home until the police came. When they towed my car out of the farmer's field, the police officer kept saying, "I've seen accidents half this bad, and the person never made it out alive." Again - by the grace of God. I was wearing a tweed weave coat, and it was full of glass, but I did not even have a scratch or pulled muscle. Amazing when I think about it. Oh - and that was before the seat belt law was in effect and I NEVER wore my seat belt. For some reason, I wore one that night.
4. What is your favorite book?
The Bible, of course!
Is that cheating? Okay, my second favorite? "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers
5. Do you make your bed everyday?
Usually. I like a bed that is made. My kids used to all the time, too - but lately, they are slacking off!

You're giving me the nudge I need to start making my bed again. That was my silly New Year's resolution last year that, over time, I slacked on...renewed plans now!

I have two in college right now and they are definitely paying for part of it. I don't know how anyone could afford it without doing it that way.
Came over from Friday Follow.
It still amazes me the accidents I've seen where I was so sure it was going to be the worst thing I'd ever seen when I was working for the Sheriff's Dept and then NOTHING.
And then other ones that look like they won't be bad and end up being pretty rough...
It seems so unbalanced, but it's all part of the plan right....
PS, I love having my bed made, I just never do it!
