Quite a while ago, this blog was created to be expressly for the SAMmy's (Strength Among Moms Ministry) group. It was linked to the SAMmy's website, and it was used to announce all the ministry events and new ministry news.
Then, it became apparent that our SAMmy's Scoop Newsletter already did that, and the blog was kind of redundant.
So, I made this blog more personal - it became a way for me to let the women of my ministry know I was just a regular mom, who blew it from time to time - just like them. I loved new recipes and I had the same things going on in my life that many of them did.
In all of that, I got caught up in the bloggy world. I didn't want SAMmy's to be personality driven, so I took the link to this blog off our website. I truly want people to be enamored with Jesus, not me (not that anyone was in DANGER of being enamored with me...). :)
So, now it's just my personal blog. But, I still mention SAMmy's plenty, because it's a big part of my life. And, I realize that sometimes I might say something tacky (a few 5QF questions come to mind) or crude, and I'm glad I'm not linked to the SAMmy's website, because that's totally a reflection of my poor choice of words or choice not to decline to answer, not a reflection on SAMmy's. I'm not perfect.
But, I've met so many of you - people who are not in SAMmy's that I never would have met, because you are in a different part of the country or not in my neighborhood. I've even prayed for some of you. And, I've managed to hang on to the SAMmy's readers I had before I erased the link from the website.
It's just funny, the way things happen - how we get from there to here. I care about my little circle of bloggy buddies, and I think about you when I'm not blogging. I have prayed for some of you. (If I ever commented on your blog that I would pray for you, know that I do not say that unless I mean it. I was praying!) So, while this blog isn't linked to the SAMmy's ministry anymore, it's a ministry in and of itself. Because, if you're a Christian, anything you do is an act of worship, don't you think? Especially, if it's done with love!

my blog started off for a different purpose and also ended up being personal. i have met some amazing people and read experiences that have caused me to laugh, reflect and not feel alone in some instances. sometimes god works in subtle ways.
