The Monday Runthrough

Well, I hope your Mother's Day was a great one! I was spoiled, as always! I really am!
We were away for the weekend - well, it was really just Saturday night...but we travelled 5 hours to get to our friends - Gary & Amy's. They are dear friends of ours that we don't see enough. We're going to Glacier this summer with their family. We usually camp with them at least once a summer. It takes a special friendship to be able to camp with somebody. We have that. We're similar in the ways that matter, and different enough to make things interesting. I love that! Our kids are different ages, but get along famously.
Anyhow, we were at their house. They bought this bed and breakfast about 5 years ago on a lake. So, all the bathrooms are IN the 5 bedrooms. It's kind of fun. And, there are two outbuildings on the property - Amy is this fantastic cook, so they made one of the buildings into her cooking school/catering business (that is wildly popular) and one is Gary's art studio/office. It's pretty cool. The best part are Amy's chickens. I fell in love with them - she didn't have them last time we visited. They are SO CUTE! They don't have those mean roosters that chase you or peck you that you hear about sometimes. These were cute like cluckers. I'm not kidding - they keep everything squeaky clean and beautiful. I wish I would have brought my camera! It was so cool!
And, we planned our Glacier trip, and of course Amy made us wonderful food and we just hung out. It's always easy to be around each other - that's the beauty of our friendship. It's never awkward, and we never feel like we need to entertain each other.
Of course it was too short...
But that's okay. It just whet my appetite for our trip to Glacier. Now THAT'S going to be fun!
