Hey, Hey! It's Tuesday!

Okay, I can finally post today - since I finished my writing! Yipee! I have a fireplace repairman in my basement right now putting the finishing touches on the longest repair you've ever heard of! It's been two weeks!!!! Yikes! (And, now that the winter's warming up....) Whatever!

This morning I came in with the dog (at 5:30am) after her walk and she was still attached to her leash. She took off around the corner. Instead of letting go, I continued to hold on. Not smart. The leash knocked a potted plant off a little end table. Arrrrgghhh! The dirt dumped all over Bridgette's backpack. The boy from across the street was over by that time, so that helped me not be a total spaz (I'm sure my kids were thankful) so I wouldn't scare him by yelling. I actually was quite proud of myself...I managed to keep my cool and look on the bright side (something I try to make a conscious effort to do, but am not always able to...especially when a mess like a whole pot of dirt flings all over the floor and a backpack!). I thought *At least this was Bridgette's backpack, because she'll take it in stride (Aaron would freak out). *At least it's a newly planted spider plant...not deep roots...it won't die. *At least I'm not good at watering my plants regularly...the dirt is pretty dry. So, hats off to me, bloggy buddies!!! I managed to turn lemons into lemonade already at 5:30 this morning! But, I DID think "I hope this isn't an indicator of the whole day!" (NOTE: It wasn't.)

**********
So...yesterday was Valentine's Day! Jenn and CM, you asked where Mike took me. I should have guessed. But, he tricked me. He said he had RESERVATIONS...and we went to :

San Pedro Cafe in Downtown Hudson. It's a quaint place with Carribean cuisine. They usually don't take reservations and you have to wait FOREVER...except in the summer, when there's patio seating...but they DO take reservations, I guess, on Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and Easter! San Pedro is my favorite restaurant. I had the best Halibut and artichokes cooked in parchment paper with rice and steamed green beans. Yummy! Mike had Coconut Scallops in some kind of sauce with coconut milk over linguini. I do just LOVE this place. My girlfriends and I go there about 3 times a summer and split a plate of their duck nachos....ooooo....mmmmmm....We went there on one of our anniversaries and bought their funky salt and pepper shakers - they kind of match my colorful motif and fiestaware in my kitchen.

Cute, huh? They were obscenely expensive, but it was my anniversary and I'm pretty spoiled...what can I say?

Mike laughed when I gave him his bear repellant, but he did say it was a good gift. We'd have to purchase some, anyhow, before we left for our trip...so, very useful. :) The kids were more than anxious for us to go out on our date...they got a deep dish pizza (a treat for them...they usually get healthy food...boo hoo!) And, they enjoyed the candy bar I stuck in their lunches. :) Mom never forgets her babies. (They love it when I call them that!)

Well, it's on to real life, now. Hope you're all having a good week! Have a good one!

Congrats on finishing your writing assignments :)

What a great Valentines day you and Mike had!!! I went to work, bootcamp and then came home to a sick Markus :( My poor little man had a fever and was vomiting...he is better now, it was only a 24 hour bug :)

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Glad you had a great Valentines Day. My husband got a Deer Stand, so I did not go the typical gift either. My kids love it when they have friends over because I control my temper alot better. Hope you have a great week.

WOW! Good for you staying positive & not letting the little things start your day off wrong. I could use a little work on that myself...especially at 5:30am!!!

So glad you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!
