Monday Miscellany

Okay, I'm going to have to check in on everyone tomorrow...or, if I can steal away later...that's always possible, if Mike takes Aaron to karate tonight! I've been on this computer all day writing - but, I've got 1/3 of my month's writing done (it sounds impressive, but I'm terribly behind!!!) :o and off to the editor's. It's 4:02 and I'm unshowered. I need to get some chicken, so I can make some Chicken Pot Pie for my family and for my new mommy friend Jocelyn's family for Wednesday. I'll throw hers in the freezer and maybe take it to her early...she can make the call whether to keep it frozen, or thaw for Wed. (She may be getting a ton of meals...)

So, the low-down on the weekend: Friday, I assembled my lasagna and baked my cheesecake for my company on Saturday. We watched the first disk in the "Band of Brothers" series Aaron got for Christmas (he's a WWII buff).
Saturday, it was clean, clean, clean and prepare for company! And then I remembered it was Packer Saturday!!! Our dinner was at 5 and the Packers played at 7! Luckily, David is a Packer Backer (his whole family was - we figured he would be, by default...) - so I rushed out to get a buffet of munchies. We had a great dinner and then a great buffet while we caught up and watched the Packers totally SLAUGHTER the Falcons!!! Go, team!!!!

Sunday, we went to church and then I took Bridgette out to lunch and we went shopping for a winter jacket for her. Deals, deals, deals, girls!!! I have a fancy dinner I have to attend with Mike for work on the 29th, so of COURSE I had to get a dress! It used to be a super-fancy affair, where I needed a cocktail dress, but they downgraded it to just a regular dress (whew!) - so, that's way   cheaper    better. We got a Columbia winter coat for Bee for 50% off. Yeah! My dress was a lot cheaper, too!  Yippee! And then we watched "Social Network." Have you seen that? It was kind of interesting. I'm fascinated by entrepeneurs, anyhow...I'm reading this book "Outliers" - about successful people and trends they see in them. I'm not too far in the book - it's my book club's pick this month - but it's pretty interesting. Anyhow - I enjoyed the movie. It's no wonder people get messed up in affairs and stuff on FB, though - that's what it was originally created for - dating and relationships for the opposite sex at college! ;)

Bee has been home with a fever all day...but you'd never know it. She's teasing the dog and rutting around like a crazy child. If it weren't for the reading on the thermometer, I'd say she was faking!

That's what I'm spending my Christmas money on...a thermometer that gives a readout when you rake it across your forehead. My young Mommy friends have those for their youngun's and if it weren't for them I wouldn't even know they existed! But, I have to take my temp so often, it would come in handy! And, I just want one!

Well, I need to go get cleaned up - now that it's 4:15 in the afternoon! I think I have chicken in the freezer...which means I don't have to go out in public...good deal. The public should thank me. Seriously. But, I should jump in the shower (don't get hurt! That's what Mike always says...don't get hurt jumping in the shower...) ANYHOW...speaking of Mike, before he gets home in 2 hours it would help if I get some ironing done. I did get the laundry done this morning (other than ironing) and the house is clean thanks to company on Saturday and me nagging everyone yesterday to clean their mess (because I knew I had writing to do today...). :) I'm a smart cookie! It looks like I've been hard at work. (And I HAVE....just working at the computer is all...)

Maybe I missed it, but what kind of writing do you do?

We have an ear thermometer that's batter operated. It works great. I've never thought about the forehead one.

Interesting what your thoughts were on the movie and Facebook. I still haven't taken the plunge and created an account.

Hope you had a good day!

Wow, you have been busy!!! When are you not busy??? I'm glad to hear that you got 1/3 of your writing down and even though you say that's not that much or not enough....it's 1/3!!! That's better than none, right??

I hope Bridgette feels better soon!
