Catchin' Up

I've been out of commission for a while.
No, I haven't been sick (thank God!).
I've just been busy, busy, busy!
Over the weekend, we had a friend over to watch the Packers make it to the Superbowl!!! Yeah!!! Having that family room downstairs and a big screen tv is sure paying off this year! It was fun...I am thinking of who I can invite over for the Superbowl...because it's going to be a blast! And, it was so fun to have all the goodies...pizza, cheese and crackers, Chex mix, chips and my sister's homemade salsa we got for Christmas (she has a salsa garden and grows all her own ingredients - even the jalepenos!). I just love doing that stuff. My friend Jen was sick so we had her hubby and 4 year old son come over. I remembered that we had a big tub of Playmobile in our storage area - the one toy I coudn't part with. I had Aaron dig it out for Gunnar (the little boy). He was enthralled! Bridgette played with him and he was SO GOOD! And, Jen got to have an afternoon to rest and hopefully recuperate, bless her heart!
Mike painted the kitchen on Saturday. Today, I have to replace everything from our soffets. Ugh. I have a TON of stuff up there - signs, old suitcases, an antique pig cookie jar, vases...it sounds junky when I list it all, but it looks nice. Really. ;)
And, tonight we host our Church cell group. So, I need to race to the store and make a goody for it. I found a recipe for a homemade carrot cake. Doesn't that sound good? You know what the cincher was? It's made in a 9x13 pan...I was worried about making it in two rounds. I don't feel like frosting something like that. I need to make it quick. I also want to squeeze in laundry, work out at the YMCA, clean my house - and, if I can - write a bit and maybe (I doubt it) run across the river to Minnesota and picking up some things for the new Rescue Mission in town that I committed to. I kind of think I have too much on my plate for today, because I need to make dinner in there, too - people are coming over at 6:30. I probably will have to save going to the store to pick up those things for the mission for tomorrow, after SAMmy's. I always do that - plan too much. Do you do that?
Remember how I said I was going to write down all my completed activities for my NY Resolution, and assign them a category? Well, that lasted about a week. I am starting again today, because I need a good pat on the back, and I need to see how balanced my activities are between SAMmy's, home, my family and myself.
So, bloggy buddies...I'm off and running this morning. It's 9:13am and I'm not doing too well. I've gotten the kids off to school, written my blog and done my devotions. It's time to hustle my heinie. :) Ta-ta! Oh - and please tell me what you're up to today...I'm going to check back with everybody who comments later. That's how I'm going to spend my blogging time...today, anyhow. It's a reward for getting a bunch done. Later. So, tell me about your plans, and then I'll check in on you later!!!!

Goodness gracious Pennie, you are one busy woman!!! I say you need to organize your day to where you get rest periods every day!!!

My sister made homemade carrot cake the other day and it was soooo good!!! It had raisins in it and had a cream cheese icing...yumm!!!

Today I am working and calling around like a mad woman trying to find out if I got accepted into the school I wanted to go to. I keep getting voicemail again and again :( I can't get anything done until I get accepted!!

Have a great Wednesday!!!

Trust me, if there is anybody who understands schedule overload, it's me! :)

It sounds like you do have a LOT on your plate. I'll pray for you that God gives you peace and joy as you go throughout your day, so that even in the midst of the crazy, it will be enjoyable for you!

As for me, today is my day "off". I'm going to just stay home with my two babies (okay, well Colin is five, but he's still my baby!), do laundry, clean the house, feed Ethan numerous bottles, organize my closet (remove maternity clothes and replace them with the few non-maternity items that still fit), pick Claire up from play practice, make dinner, make my dessert for MOPS tomorrow, spend some down-time with my hubby and go to bed! Funny that my day off still sounds so stinking busy! :)

Missing and loving you always!

I'm tired just reading that Pennie! I was grocery shopping today and taking 2 boys to preschool. And of course in between that there is lots to do with 3 little ones around!

BTY, my pink eye is gone :) And, I'll be cheering for The Packers too!
