Howling At The Moon

I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep last night.

No, really.
Two nights ago I told Mike that I would have trouble sleeping last night.
You know - because it was supposed to be a full moon last night.
Mike only rolled his eyes at me slightly. Silly woman.
But, it's happened too many times to count. It can't be a coincidence!
My mom was a police officer. She used to come home on nights when there was a full moon and talk about how crimes really picked up then. The officers talked about it every time.
I don't know what it is, but people get rambunctious on full moon nights.
And last night was no exception.

Except, I forgot about that prior to bedtime.
And I treated it like any other night.
Sigh - that was my first mistake.
And Mike and I were exhausted!
We really had a busy weekend - entertaining weekend guests and then going to a Twins game with the fam, and having a family barbecue to end the weekend...it was just a bit much.
Exhausted!
So, when 10:00 rolled around, we gladly hit the hay.
Ahhh....it felt so good to be in bed.
...and that's when the tossing and turning began.
Then, I bolted upright at 11:20.
Did I turn my computer off? I had been working on it (couponing) on my leather overstuffed chair and ottoman. If I didn't turn it off it may be running and overheat and burn a hole in my leather ottoman! Oh, dear!
I think I remember turning it off...
Yeah, Pennie...don't be a worry wart.
Then, about five minutes later...
I remember taking my syringe (my meds for M.S.) out of the refrigerator....
(I need to take one out one-five hours prior to injecting it, so it comes to room temp)...
But I didn't remember injecting it...
Oh! My! Gosh!
I actually forgot to give myself my meds!

So, I got up and did that...
...and that's when I saw the full moon glaring through the patio door in the living room...
...like the living room lights were on...
...and it all made sense!

...so I took some Unisom.
...and slept the rest of the night.

But, when the alarm went off at 5am, I was a bit tired.
Mike stepped out of the shower and I asked how he slept. He said, "Not well at all. And it's odd...because I was so tired!"
I really tried not to sound to smug when I said, "Yeah. Full moon, remember?"
I heard the smile in his voice when he turned toward the closet to get out a shirt and said, "My wife is so smart!"
I think he's a believer now.

That's really funny! I can't relate even a little bit, but I do think it's hilarious that you are affected by the full moon :)

Love love love this and love you, too!

It was just so bright last night! I let the dogs out around midnight and it almost looked like day time!

That will teach him!!
I would have slept just fine if my husband would have quit playing Angry Birds in bed. He was jerking all around waking me up!
