365/134-140

Another week gone by in a blur...and I should have posted on Friday, but I was off on a girlie weekend that was FABULOUS! I do have to make up for all the housework I didn't get done during the weekend, however...Sigh! So, I'll catch you all up on my fab time tomorrow! I had a good one, though!!!!

So...here's my past week in pictures! I did a lot of laundry, since we had a couple of GLORIOUS days of sunshine!!! Yipee!!! (Last night we had a tornado touch down in North Minneapolis, though...scary! NOT glorious sunshine weather!)

Day 134: A week and a half ago, my friend Heather gave me these Gerber daisies. Aren't they pretty? I was supposed to take a picture portraying "pride" this week. This is as close as I got...I am proud that these babies are still alive. A feat in and of itself. I have kept a houseplant alive. Does that count? I didn't think so. I knew taking a photo of a person would be tough (I don't like posed shots...) but this one was really tough...and I didn't get one. Oh, well...on to the next challenge!

Day 135: I was going to show you this picture last week. This is a picture of a dandelion. I didn't know they could look so pretty! Aaron has managed to get rid of them all in our lawn (which is no small job...we have an acre lawn!), so this one was found in a park nearby.

Day 136: Anyone who is a reader of my blog knows that I am a stay-at-home mom (who does volunteer work as the Exec. Dir. of a nonprofit) and one of the things I love to do is hang laundry on the line. I mean I. LOVE. IT. Seriously. It's a sickness. I could do it all day. It saves ironing. It makes the clothes smell good. All the clothes look so pretty hanging up there, waving in the wind...pretty colors and textures...see? It's a mental illness, I'm sure...

Day 137: Oooo...a great angle. I have a great idea to take fabric swatches and make a quilt that looks like clothes hanging on a clothesline...with a gold braided cord for a clothesline, and blue cloud material for a backround...and real little doll clothespins. Isn't that a GREAT idea? Now, if I just quilted...

Day 138: This looks like the end of the road, doesn't it? It used to be where the old train went through. Not anymore...

Day 139: You can see the old train tracks peeking through the dirt if you look really hard. I used an old antique finish on this picture, because the trees without leaves in the background and the wood sides on the bridge make it look kind of old-fashioned, doesn't it?

Day 140: Oh, another day to hang out clothes! I love the way there's a shadow on the blue shirt, and you can see both the green leaves on the tree and the blue sky in the background! I can almost ignore the fact that it's raining outside as I type this up. But...I hear sunshine is on its way later this week...so it may be a week that my bedding will make its way onto the line! Yippee!
That's it for this week's Mommytography rundown. I can't wait to see what inspires me this week. This really is a fun project. I have been a lot more aware of my surroundings and the beautiful things in my ordinary life. :) You'd be surprised...I dare you to mindfully take a picture a day of anything that inspires. You'll probably have to take several pictures of it, and pick one or two that turn out the best...but I think you'll surprise yourself! And, you'll learn to use your camera better! (I just found out how to use my self-timer...so I'll be taking my self-portraits now, Tracy!...yet another bonus of this great program!)

Until tomorrow...be blessed!

Wait, you're kidding right? Putting laundry on the line prevents wrinkles? Seriously? OMG!

I can kinda see those tracks! Cool!

LOL! I was going to say hanging laundry was a disease, but then you went and confirmed it... If I hunt stuff on the line, my dogs would eat it.
So I'm a dryer or hanger drying kind of gal.
Glad your weekend was a blast!

YOur pictures are great.
I have never tried line drying. Will clothes dry on a line when there is 99% humidity?
Your pictures are nice to make me try!!

My clothes always get crunchy on the line. I love hanging them out, but they stretch wierd and get crunchy and I end up throwing them in the dryer to soften them up for 15 min.
What's the secret?
PS, how was Beth????????????
we threw my stepdaughters grad party this weekend (well her mother did most of the work, we just helped with drinks, setting up, taking down..which was plenty of work) so I was too busy to even think about going... :(

The secret to fewer wrinkles and not-crunchy clothes is FABRIC SOFTENER!!! Yep, that's it! ;)

Oh - and hanging the button down shirts from the bottom, not the top...by the seams. And the tees by the bottoms, and the pants/shorts by the tops. :)

Closest I get to line drying is my drying rack I set up in the hallway ;). The clothes don't smell fresh :( Great photos. I was wondering, do you have a zoom lens? If so, which one? I'm asking hubby for a zoom lens for my birthday, but I'm not sure which one to get.

I have a Canon Rebel and I use a 250mm and a 50mm...these are with a 250mm...that's my fave...it's a super zoom! (The 50mm came with the camera.)
