1. Did you have a pen pal when you were little (or now)? Where were/are they from?

My cousin Amy lived next door to me and we hung out quite a bit when I was little. She moved to Bismark, North Dakota when I was 5. She became the closest thing I ever had to a pen pal. We'd see each other almost every summer. She had a clever sense of humor. I remember she'd purposely spell my last name wrong on my letters once in a while. (We had the same last name.) I thought she was a riot! I always admired her, ironically because of her smart mouth. She was very outspoken and a trouble maker and I was the "good girl." (Until high school, but that's another story...) When she was in elementary school she moved to Kansas, where she lives now. We eventually drifted apart, as many people do who live far from each other.

2. If you could do a different job for one day, what would it be?
Hmmm...for one day I'd like to be the person a professional spa service practices on. Ummm...a little massage, facial, mani/pedi???
  
3. Do you remember your biggest fear from when you were little?
Same as today...bees, wasps. I also had a fear of mean people.


4. What do you think is a waste of time? Why?
Washing my hair EVERY DAY. I only do it every other day or every third. I have really thick hair and so it's the drying and styling that takes FOREVER. Don't think I'm gross here...my hair doesn't get greasy or anything. It's actually healthier not to wash your hair daily. My scalp doesn't get really oily. One of my friends doesn't wash her hair for a week...but her hair really doesn't EVER get greasy - REALLY! I tell her it's because she's thin, but she swears that's not why. I say it is...there's no fat oils...she thinks that's a silly deduction. But, she's lucky! Her hair really doesn't get greasy! 


5. What is the oldest item you have in your closet?
Okay...I had to go look! I knew it wouldn't be clothing, since I rotate clothes quite a bit. And we move...a lot. So, it's not like I have clothes from 10 years ago or anything. But I have STUFF from quite a while ago on the shelves in my closet!!! I found two things that rival the prize for the oldest item. It's either my hot rollers (they could be from the 90's) or a beautiful silk scarf friends of mine brought back from Africa and gave to me as a gift.

Well, there you have it - 5QF! I hope you have some fun weekend plans. I don't have anything definite. Mike and Aaron are off to some other state - one of the Dakotas (I forget...should have been listening, right?) duck hunting. I've made them cookies and Beef and Guinness stew...so they're all set. Bridgette and I get to have a girl's weekend, so I'm sure shopping and chick flick watching will be part of our weekend. :) I also plan to get in a hike or two, if the weather cooperates (it's supposed to be crisp, but nice!). I can't wait to catch up with everybody come Monday and hear all about your weekend! Until then, have a blog-worthy time!!!!
