Come Along With Me...

I'd like to take you on a trip to a quaint little village. They call this part of Hudson "Historic Downtown Hudson" - opposed to "On The Hill" (really - even the sign says that!) where the Target, Walmart and McDonald's are located.
Historic Downtown Hudson is a fun town to knock around on a warm, sunny afternoon...much like this one.
Come on over and see for yourself! It's beautiful!

The bronze Boyscout statue stands guard on the shores of Wisconsin, looking out over the St. Croix River. The shoreline on the horizon is our neighbor to the West, Minnesota.

The streets are lined with canopied storefronts. (I actually stood in the middle of the road to get this shot!) :)

Isn't this a cute drugstore? (You have to forgive me. I'm a city girl - born and raised in the Milwaukee area.)
Here's the famous Knoke's Chocolate Shop. The best.
I especially love the architecture of the buildings downtown - both the shops and the houses.

And no one can argue the fact that Hudsonites are a  philanthropic bunch!

The residential area of downtown is full of beautiful tree lined avenues where older houses exist with all the charm of the Victorian age.
Before we end the tour, we have to stop off at one of Hudson's famous Victorian places - The Octagon House:

Well, thanks for coming on the tour of Hudson with me! I hope you enjoyed yourself! Bridgette and I had fun taking the pictures last weekend. It was fun to take a drive and then walk around such a quaint town!

Have a great weekend and we'll see you in Bloggyworld!

Love the photos Pennie. The black and white makes it feel even more historic! I love old buildings. Architecture today isn't what it used to be :(
