I read today's post on Mary Pierce's blog this morning http://www.laughlady.com/ . She is a writer and speaker. I've had the privilege of having her speak at several of our SAMmy's retreats, and I own all three of her books. She also attends SAMmy's-Eau Claire, as does her daughter. She is a HUGE blessing to many of us.
Mary talks about a time when her daughter asked her to play, and she said "later," because she was cleaning. Her daughter piped up with "Never mind. 'Later' means 'Never.'"
Mary, of course, quit cleaning and played the game with her daughter because she felt like a heel.
That's a good reminder to get our priorities right. Sometimes that means giving up our cleaning to play a game and sometimes that means working extra long to bake that birthday cake for the next day that will mean the world to your big/little boy.
Whatever it is, it does require being deliberate and, at least in my case, a bit of sacrifice. Loving is deliberate - but it is easier in the long run because regrets are a lot heavier to carry around than good memories!
May you forgo cleaning a toilet this week in favor of playing a game with your child, or have to rearrange your schedule to plan an extra-special treat or outing for your family. Mostly, may you carve a beautiful moment in your family's museum of memories this week.

I would be okay with forgoing ALL of my housework! :)
I love this - thanks for sharing! Miss you!
I love it when kids just make something so clear like that! And yes, we all need to stop and live in the moment.
You are so right, the Son gave His life for His children I think time is the least we can give ours.
I tend to always leave the cleaning so I can play... is that bad??!! ha ha!! One day I will find the balance... but I would rather Seize My Day than clean!! =) I love her blog url... Laughlady!! Must go check it out!!
Have a beautiful day Pennie!
