Happy Monday!!!!

Here we are, another Monday...
Before we discuss another thing, I promised Helga I'd show you all a picture of Mike's birthday gift to me.
It's a yogo sapphire that Mike bought me in Montana. Isn't it pretty? "Yogo" means "blue sky" in some Native American tongue, I can't remember which - probably Blackfoot, because there were a ton of Blackfoot tribes in the Glacier area. Queen Elizabeth II's engagement ring featured a yogo sapphire (must be just because they're pretty, not because of their value - because diamonds are much more expensive...).

I love semi-precious stones more than diamonds. Give me a sapphire, ruby or emerald (Mike bought me one from Ireland once) instead of diamonds any day. I also prefer silver to gold. Wish I would have had this taste in jewelry BEFORE we picked out my engagement/wedding band way back in the day! Could have saved us a heap of cash!

So, what did you do over the weekend? We had a date night Friday. Fun, fun, fun!!! Saturday was a work day. Mike and Aaron mulched around trees and all our flower beds. We have a one acre yard...so, they spread several trailer loads of mulch! They had to finish up on Sunday. It was such a beautiful weekend for it - windy and cool - in the low 70's. Gorgeous!!! Bridgette weeded, and I did a bunch of inside work and made everyone's meals...and Aaron had a bunch of laundry he hadn't brought up to the laundry room since BEFORE we went on our glacier trip! SERVERAL LOADS WORTH!!! So, those got laundered and put out on the line. I love to do that...as you probably already know!
Sunday, we headed to our friends' Kip and Julie's for a barbeque. I brought Rhubarb Custard bars using some rhubarb I had in the freezer from my MIL's patch. Yummy! It was so good to see everyone and play yard games for a while. I got a chance to visit Jen from Oils for Wellness, whom I haven't seen in person most of the summer - not since June, anyhow...it was nice to catch up with friends!
Well - now it's time to catch up with all my bloggy buddies...I have an email from Jen from 3 Little Monkeys, so I want to go see what she's up to!!!!
Have a great Monday!!!

Your ring is beautiful!!! I love blue stones...my favorite is Blue Topaz. When I went to Bahrain I bought a Blue Topaz ring in 18 Karat gold and it is one of my favorite rings!!! I have a few blue sapphire rings too and love them to pieces :o) I just gave my Mom a blue sapphire ring last year, it was super cute and looked like a flower. It had two sapphires and a diamond.

Ok, I love jewelry and that is something I can go on and on about...who woulda thought :)

I have been so busy at work that I didn't really get a chance to go online at all yesterday. Hopefully today will be better.

Have a great Tuesday!!!

What a purdy ring you got! Lucky girl! I also love silver jewelry.

Sounds like a productive weekend. And yes, it's so much better to work outside when it's a little cooler. It's cooler here today...perhaps I should get some yard work done....but then again, maybe not!
