Getting Up My Nerve

I'm going to do it.

Later this afternoon.

It's scary. In fact, this foe of mine has scared me for three summers now, but we're about to have a face-off.

All because I cannot for the life of me think of something really good to have for dinner.

Yes, you read that right. Dinner.

When we were at Glacier, I brought along these DEE-LICOUS Chicken & Apple brats from Sam's Club. If you have a Sam's Club near you, I would suggest you run out RIGHT NOW and purchase some for dinner. Hurry!!!! But, the thing was, my pal Amy cooked those babies up over the fire pit, and they tasted heavenly.

Well, I'm not going to start a bon-fire in our backyard fire pit (although Aaron and Bridgette would probably think that's a great idea...but I have plans for tonight - I have a party to go to at my neighbors - and, every time we have a bonfire in our fire pit, the neighbors come over from all over and we end up having a GREAT get-together...which is really fun, but it lasts for HOURS...and I don't have time!). So, I need to face my fear of this:
This is Goliath. And three years ago he burned my bangs RIGHT OFF. I bent down to ignite the propane and WHOOSH - up went the flame and off went the bangs. My kids screamed, and I screamed and I never went near it again. It TERRIFIES me!!!!

But, the prospect of having nothing delicious to put on the table tonight terrifies me more. I could just heat those babies up in a pan - like I did two weeks ago. But, they were so LAME compared to our experience in Glacier. I want them YUMMY and kind of char-grilled! (Can you hear the whine in my voice??? I'm whiney today - ask Jenn from Seizing my Day...I emailed her some very whiney email today!)

So, either I will post a very triumphant email tomorrow - or a picture of a hairless Pennie.

Wish me luck!

Guess what is for dinner at my house?!! Apple Chicken Sausages... fried in a pan with tiny bit of maple and low sodium soy ... maybe with onion and peppers... over rice!! YUMMO!! you can even use a tiny bit of teriyaki and put the rice & sausage in a wrap... sundried tomato wraps are the best!! yum... can't wait for dinner!

Best of luck with that Grill.. I ... I am NOT going to tackle my fear of the grill... too many injuries as of late!!

Good luck! I'm terrified of gas grills so I use Goliath's little brother, the charcoal grill.

Oh Pennie, you poor thing!! If I was anywhere near you I would do it for you. By the way....why doesn't Mike light the grill? I thought the men were supposed to be the BBQers in the family?? It was never that way with Dewayne but it sure would have been great LOL.

Good luck tonight and have a great time!!!

I hope that your grilling experience went well! I don't enjoy grilling, either .. that is definitely Monte's job! :)

I have to admit, I'm a little scared of the BBQ too! Not that I've burned my bangs off...yet! Yikes.

So...how did it go? Were they scrumptious? Do you still have your eyebrows?
