...oh, if only an apple a day REALLY kept the doctor away!
I went for my shot at the hospital today. My last shot (of this medication at the hospital, anyhow...). I had my quarterly neurologist appt. yesterday. All this is still so new and confusing - and we're still trying to figure out what I need to keep this stupid disease under control.
It's not behaving so well.
Anyhow, the new plan doesn't require me to go weekly to the hospital! You would really think that would make me happy, right?
Right????
Except for the fact that I've become really good friends with my two nurses.
I know that probably comes as a big surprise to you all. ha ha
Luckily, my vacation photos came via UPS yesterday from Shutterfly, because I promised my nurses at the Infusion Center at the hospital that I'd show them a few of the wildlife shots, and a few of the special scenic ones. This would be my LAST CHANCE...which I just found out yesterday afternoon! Elizabeth (one of my nurses) now says she REALLY wants to go to Glacier. (She's already been to Split Rock Lighthouse! I gave her the scoop on all the great places to go around there!)
Before I left the Infusion Center today, both of my nurses gave me hugs and told me that when I go to my next neurology appt. (oh yeah - that reminds me, I better call to make that appt. for three months out...) I need to stop by and visit...they are in the same corridor as the Specialty Clinic where my neurologist's office is.
So, my parting is bittersweet...these nurses definitely made a not so fun thing (getting a shot) something that was really pleasant - because they are two of the friendliest, nicest people! So, for those of you who are in the nursing profession - kudos to you - and thank you for making such a big difference! You make it hard to move on! :)
Oh...and, about my photos...I picked a really nice scenic one (one of the ones I posted last week) and I ordered a special photo gift from Shutterfly - a canvas print using that digital photo! Mike's birthday is the 28th, and that vacation was such a great one. I have the perfect place to hang it, too! (Kind of a great gift - I make a picture for him to hang in our house that I get to see every day. Everyone wins!)
One more bit of news. I have been DREADING going to the store to get school supplies. You should see the Middle School lists for our area. The amount of supplies in the past have been OBSCENE!!!! Well, I'm kind of an office supply junkie. I seriously have a problem. I probably need a 12-step program or something... Anyhow, we have a rubbermaid tub - like one of those BIG ONES - full of office supplies that I got "on sale" throughout the year. PLUS, I have a secret stash of notebooks (Oh, how I LOVE a blank notebook!!!! The possibilities!!!!). And, I think there's also a plastic milk crate or two in our storage room in the basement of miscellaneous supplies (on my to-do list to organize these items....ahem!). Aaron's High School list is pretty tame - he just needs some pens, pencils, notebooks and folders - I can do that! But, Bridgette's Middle School list was the usual complicated list... But, I have EVERYTHING in stock! (Except a few pens and Kleenex.) It's like an Office Depot down there!!!! I cannot tell you how relieved I am! I really was dreading having to go into the stores to shop for her supplies - it's brutal and everything's picked over.
Now I can shop for the REAL bargains when they all get back to school and replenish my supplies...
Don't bother trying to arrange for an intervention. They never work!
Have a great Tuesday, all!

I started an office supply tub also. It's hidden from the kiddos, though. I wouldn't know what it's like to find an unscribbled in notebook, though. Can't seem to keep the kids away from them!
Big prayers your way!
I love your birthday idea for Mike! What a great idea! Yay for being done at the hospital! I love that you have an office depot in your house :) I wish I was that good a planing ahead. Sadly I will be digging through all of the picked over stuff to get our back to school supplies.
That's a whole lotta office supplies!!!! I wish I had that many so I didn't have to buy school supplies. I was gonna go last weekend but I didn't so I have to go tomorrow instead :o(
