Give Me A Break...

I was having a really good conversation with Aaron this morning.

Really good.

My 14 year old boy was CONVERSING with me.

And then I looked down to see what he was munching on for breakfast.

Was that a bowl of dry cereal he was eating???

No, it was a cereal bowl of GOLDFISH CRACKERS!!!!!

He tried to convince me that they "only had 5 grams of fat in them."

I guess that made them an approved breakfast food???

I made him put them back and eat something "normal" (which turned out to be peanut butter and banana sandwich and iced tea???? Choose your battles, mommies....).

I guess that makes me a mean mommy. :(

He still demands to know "What's wrong with fish crackers for breakfast?"

Anyone care to answer that one?

Fish don't wake up early enough in the morning to be breakfast?

Sorry. I tried.

This isn't giving me much hope for my almost three year old who thinks Lifesavers would be a great breakfast - along with a side of sour cream and onion chips.

UUUhhhh, I had yogurt and soda for breakfast :o) Weird combination, I know but what can I say....I slept for 3 hours last night and sometimes you have to take what you can get :o)

Have a great Wednesday Pennie!!!

I think that's a typical teenage boy thing. :) My younger brothers don't eat healthy either and I think they usually skip breakfast!
Peanut butter and banana sandwich sounds good, though. :)

I don't know, I gotta say it probably could be A LOT worse! haha I am so glad we are still in the stage of my kids eat what I put in front of them so we don't have to deal with that ind of stuff yet. Although you are SO right, pick your battles...I say that almost every day!

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Hugs!

Thanks for giving me some insight into what I have to look forward to with 3 boys! I guess it could be worse....like fruit loops!

I don't know exactly what a goldfish cracker is. When we were in Florida we had some little cookies that were fish shaped and they tasted like gingerbread. Are they what you mean? I assume they are not good for you anyway! I loved them but I couldn't have eaten a whole bowl for breakfast!
Re your comment - a Morris Dancer is a group of people who dress up and do a kind of folk dance at special events. They wear bells on their shoes and have sticks with bells on too. They are fun to watch. If you google 'Morris Dancer' you will see pictures.

OK so being the NERD that I am... I had to go and look at the facts on the goldfish... they actually have less fat and sugar than cereal and they have a little protein... Pennie... I hate to say it... but they really aren't that bad of a breakfast... as long as he has a tall glass of milk with it!! ha ha! Sorry Pennie!! oh... and now that they have whole grain ones!! he he! still love me??!
