The other day I was at Melissa's with my boyfriend, Dyson. He loves to vacuum! Now, before you get all upset - yes, I realize I'm married (I am madly in love with Mike) and I know I have a responsibility as a Christian (and I am madly in love with Mike) and a Women's Ministry Leader. Besides, did I mention I am really madly in love with my husband, Mike? My boyfriend is no threat to my marriage, anyhow. My husband, who loves a clean house, encourages me to spend as much time with Dyson as I want. You see, Dyson not only loves to vacuum, he IS a vacuum!
My girlfriends tease me because domestic diva I am NOT (who needs to set the timer?...The smoke alarm usually goes off to let me know MY dinner's done!), but I DO love to hang laundry out on the line on a sunny day and to vacuum every chance I get. Those are a few things that keep me from being classified as a messy person. And I absolutely love the Dyson vacuum cleaner Mike bought me for Christmas. (If it's any consolation, my friend Heather loves her Dyson, too - and her vacuuming obsession makes mine look like sanity...because she IS really a neat person, by nature.)
Anyhow...the other morning I took Dyson over to Melissa's house, because she's heard me rave about how much dust I pick up from my carpeting every other day. (Are you worried about me yet?) So, we vacuumed her carpets - and guess what Melissa wants for Mother's Day???? Somebody wants to steal my boyfriend...but she's going to have to get one of her own! ;)
On a ministry note - I just brought the Summer edition of the Scoop to the printer's and it will be sent out to the different chapters next week, in time for the various end of year brunches. Yeah! We made deadline!
There is going to be a contest that will run all summer for all of you gorgeous SAMmy's Sisters out there - your inner cover girls are calling! Snap pictures taken with you eating (or holding) an ice cream cone (the "Scoop" theme) to be used for one of next year's covers of the SAMmy's Scoop. Details will be in the Summer issue. Pictures must be e-mailed to me and also posted on the SAMmy's Shutterfly account. Make the pictures silly, gorgeous, whatever! I can't wait to see the variety of pics we get. The important part is to have blank space at the top and down one side of the picture, so we can super-impose titles and words on the cover of the newsletter. I think a good idea for a cover picture would be for somebody to be holding an ice cream cone with about 10 scoops of ice cream, and to be looking up at the top scoop - wouldn't that be funny? No? Cute, at least?

I spent the weekend at my parents' doing housework for them...I brought Dyson. After seeing what it picked up (after my sister just vacuumed), guess what my dad is buying this morning? I should get a commission on these things!
