I have been REALLY unmotivated this week! Granted, I've had something "extra" going on every single day this week. The usual running coupled with doctor's appointments and other appointments, and more than a few lunch dates and coffee dates (I'm not complaining) and a couple "Mom, I need this for school TOMORROW's" that warranted trips to Target. It's just been...busy!
So, the last thing I really cared about was the house. I mean, it's generally pretty clean. I have two teenagers, not toddlers. They pretty much clean up after themselves (just don't open their closet doors or look under their beds...and give me a warning before you look in their bathrooms!). But, there's a bit of scrubbing and vacuuming and organizing that definitely needs to go on here. But - who cares? I've been BUSY!
Except...I remembered this morning that I have a friend and her family coming for dinner on Sunday! Yikes! An ORGANIZED friend! An organized friend with a BEAUTIFUL house that is ALWAYS perfectly decorated and clean. I know it is...I stop over at least once a week. Yikes!
If she read this...which I don't think she will...she would say that she doesn't care. She probably doesn't. (She's one of my best friends.) But, I know I can do better than this. I want us to have good time Sunday, so I'm not preoccupied thinking about the dust bunny in the corner. So, this morning I cleaned my desk.
What do you mean what else? That's what I did. All morning. I told you there was some organizing that needed to be done! Sheesh! (I even redid my files!) Out with the old and in with the new! Luckily, that was the worst of the dragons that needed slaying...well, at least the ones you can SEE. That's good enough for now...
Just don't open any of my cupboards...
What can I say? I'm a work in progress...

I think we all have those spaces where we just shove stuff into and don't look at it! For me, that would be the basement storage room...at least no one goes down there!
And she probably wouldn't even think about it if you hadn't straightened up. We're harder on ourselves than others are on us.

I hear ya! I have so many spots in my house that I would love to get to some day and organize/clean out. I can only do so much. I guess my first focus is on getting meals made, kids dressed, laundry, ect. Then, any spare time I try to get to those other projects, if I can. Otherwise, don't sweat it! :-)

I'm a work in progress too. With the wedding over, I'm concentrating on my house this week. It needs a major overhaul but I'll settle for being able to walk through the laundry room...
I think we are all a work in progress. I think you did a good job, you did get it organized, and that is good. :)

My "don't look here" area is my office. The rest of my house can be totally picked up and clean but everything that needed a home goes into my office. UGH!
You are not alone... TRUST me!! and don't get me started on finishing paint and actually hanging pictures and buying couch pillows... etc. etc.! LOL! I am catching up!! as you can see... commenting my down! ha!
