365/141-147

Falling behind a bit on posting these, due to the Memorial Day weekend...however it WAS FUN! ;)

Now, Bloggy Friend , you're going to see a theme in this conglomeration of pics this week. Mike and I managed to sneak in lots of couple time this past weekend. (To my bloggy friends who have younger kids: this is the consolation of kids getting older and getting lives of their own. There ARE perks!) ;)

Father's Day is coming up, and I thought it would be cool to make a collage of some of Hubby's favorite things. I spared you pics of the dead animals on the walls (a.k.a. taxidermied everything). :) You can thank me later. This week is a tribute to my one and only of almost 20 years. (18 years plus over a year of dating...that's almost 20, right?)

Day 141: Our downtown clock along the river. (I'm experimenting with different hues in my photo editing program, so bear with me.) :) Mike and I took a walk along the river with the kids (with a little goody from Dairy Queen...)
I like this one. I actually did this shot in black and white, but it was too light - so I darkened it up (the editing program is GREAT for foibles like that!) and put this bluish hue in. *love it!* Our downtown is so quaint and 1930ish...the hue adds to that feel, don't you think?

Day 142: This is the Northern Mike caught on a nightcrawler when we were pan fishing. Funny! It's a small Northern, but these babies usually only bite on lures! We were surprised! (We were only catching teeny weeny pan fish!)

Day 143: This is how my organized man stores his baseball caps in his workshop. He spends his days in an office, but when he's home on the weekends, or out and about after work - it's jeans and a t-shirt and a baseball cap. I love that man!

Day 144: This is one wall in his workshop. The guy's got lots of stuff! But, I guarantee you it's organized!!!! (It's probably alphabetized, but you didn't hear it from me!)

Day 145: He thought I was taking pictures of the dog. :) This is my attempt of taking an unposed picture. I couldn't get too close without being too obvious. Hmmmm....have to work on that. (But I'm doing better...this is my first week with pics of people in them...and two pics at that!)
I did an antiqued hue on this photo, because the oak and the light from our lamp in its opaque glass shade was so...orange. Ugh.
I wanted Mike to be the background on this photo, because I was kind of spying on him reading, and I wanted the photo to convey that feel of observing - and I wanted it to be unposed (except for Angel - who almost gave me away, that little Squirt!).

Day 146: We were coming back from fishing and saw the most brilliant rainbow in the sky! Was it this brilliant? YES! But, my picture didn't come out this way when I looked at it...why can't you ever get a picture to capture the rainbow the way it looks in the sky???? So, I darkened up the actual picture.
I really am loving this Photoshop Lightroom program.
It's true...you can't trust the pictures you see once they're developed anymore. They can so easily be doctored. I admit...the rainbow pic is doctored. :)
Sigh.
But, I honestly tell you...it was THIS BEAUTIFUL!!! THIS BRILLIANT!!! (However, the sky was a bit lighter, and the field a bit lighter, too...) :)

Day 147: Okay, of all the pictures I took in Mike's workshop, this was my LEAST FAVORITE...
...until I started playing with the color scheme!

Isn't it cool???
I really like how the edges are darkened like that! I'm not sure how it turned out like that, because that same color scheme on other photos DO. NOT. DO. THAT!

I am totally happy with this! I think I'm going to do something with this one for Father's Day for Mike.

Totally!
Well, thanks for looking those over with me. My next adventure? Using my camera to take a self-portrait.
It's scary.
Why?
I don't know. I keep putting it off. Partly, because I'm so dang busy!
Partly, because I keep making excuses.
That tells me that I dread it.
Probably for the same reasons you might dread it if it were your assignment.
This week for sure!
I. Will. Do. It.
Don't let me chicken out!
I should be doing these once a week!

I uploaded the trial version of Lightroom, but I have no clue what I'm doing. What book or resource are you using? I can't even figure out how to open a photo!

Great shots, isn't tinkering with your photos fun!

BTW, I'm not a big fan of self portraits myself. But just do it! :-)

I loved the sneaky picture, you're too funny! Great pictures and editing, they are all awesome!

I like the couple time thing...I know someday I will enjoy that, even though it means my babies will be grown up. :)

Hope you are doing well! We have been so busy and trying to get used to this stupid harness on Callie I feel so out of the loop in blogland. :(

Great pictures again Pennie! Love the rainbow shot, even if it's been "doctored" ;) HAHA...I can totally related to your alphabetized comment. Am I crazy because my spices are alphabetized? Or does everyone do that?!
