...And the questions are:
1. What is your favorite summer time activity?
Camping with the family. Our family camping trips are THE BEST. We have camping traditions (certain games, certain ways of setting things up, certain jobs for each family member) and special camping food (taco chili, gorp, s'mores, Pop Tarts). We hike and spend lots of time together and sleep in a tent. We explore and do a lot of talking. It's just pure quality time and we NEVER get bored!
2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever's on sale?
I used to purchase whatever was on sale - as long as it was Free & Clear (my hubby and son have a really sensitive nose and Bridgette has sensitive skin).
I have a front loading washer, and I used to just use a smaller amount and get away with it. But, I used Tide stain remover with the non-He off-brand detergent, and had a BIG PROBLEM once...not good.
I've discovered couponing now. I get Tide He Free & Clear detergent for $5.99 or less with coupons and when I can do that (when it's on sale & I have coupons), I stock up. That is really my favorite.
That's my long answer. :) I still have time on the timer for my cake!!! I'll keep going...
3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer?
To make or to eat???
Oh - to make...
We just got this:
So, I am really into grilling now. I'd have to say grilled burgers with sauteed onions and mushrooms. Watermelon, curly fries a tossed salad (mixed greens, cukes, strawberries, sliced almonds, carrot shavings, and cherry tomatoes with choice of dressing) and Meringue Berry Pie for dessert.
I would have to say singing. In high school I went to state for it. I used to be a worship leader - in several churches we went to (we moved around a lot). But, I quit letting church leadership know I sang whenever we moved once I became involved in women's ministry. I'd be way too overwhelmed having that many irons in the fire. Being in leadership requires quite a bit of me - I couldn't be divided like that.
5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why?
Okay...I'd like to be an expert in psychology. Why? I find that fascinating! I would help people find out why they do what they do. And they could better themselves. I would not be giving them a fish so they could eat for a meal, I would be showing them how to fish so they could eat for a lifetime. The world would be a better place because people would be inspired!
Now, the question said INSTANTLY, right? One of my biggest regrets is not finishing college. One of the reasons I lack the motivation to return to college at 43 (almost 44 - ugh!), besides the fact is that we're saving up to put two through college in 3 years, is the fact that I can't get my diploma INSTANTLY. :) Pathetic, but honest. So, in real life I help people by volunteering and doing my best at that. And write and speak on the side. But, I can write. Since in this fantasy I'd be an expert at psychology, I'd write books that would REALLY help people. In real life I'm also a speaker, so in this fantasy I'd become well-known on the speaking circuit helping people with my expert psychology advice as best as I could - and I would!
Well...there you have it! Oh - and I better tend to my cake...the timer calls! Happy Friday!

Enjoy your cake! I hope it didn't fall.
I thought you were somewhere in Wisconsin! My sister lives in Janesville and we get there maybe once a year. Their older kids have hit the wedding and graduation phases so we may get there more in the future... She has 14 kids...
Lol, with those answers, your cake must have taken a while to bake! ;)
The berry meringue pie sounds beyond heavenly!!! As far as returning to college goes... I totally understand. It's all I've known for 22 years, and in 22 years, I've also learned that if I ever stop going to school, I'm highly unlikely to return. Especially not if I have kids. Especially especially if said kids are about to embark on college in a few short years. No, thank you.
Hope you're having a fabulous summer, Penster! I just wrote my book review for that book I bought that you then suggested, Time of my Life. LOVED IT!!!! So, so good. You know me too well ;)
How did the cake turn out?
I want to be a psychologist too!!! I always wished I took it in school rather then business *sigh*. Oh well. One can dream. And who knows, maybe it's not all it's cracked up to be...or should I say quacked up to be ;)
