Anyhow, Chell gave me these virtual flowers. And with these virtual flowers there are a few things that I need to do, to pass on the fun...
The rules are pretty simple.
* Copy and paste this award to your blog
* Thank and link to the person that tagged you with it.
* List 7 facts about yourself
* Give the award to 5 other bloggers you enjoy and tell them they have it.
So, here are my 7 facts:
- One of the best luxuries in life are soft towels. Seriously. Soft, fluffy towels that don't get scratchy or rough in the wash. I have found the perfect towels at Target and am currently, little by little, replacing all my bath towels with them. They are divine.
- It is snowing. Again. Has been since suppertime last night. We are slated for snow Tuesday night. And Wednesday into Thursday. We've had a big snowstorm in December that dumped 22" of snow. One last week (I think it was last week? Or the week after? I forget...) that dumped about 15". We've had little snows that left 4" here and 2" inches there. This week will leave us with accumulations of 10"-12". I am officially sick of snow. I am ready for Spring.
- While I was gone this past weekend, Mike finished sealing the tile on our backsplash in the kitchen and caulking it. Last week he had grouted it and the week before he spent all weekend piecing it and sticking it on the wall. It turned out SO GREAT, don't you think? It goes so well with our countertops. I have such a handyman!!!
- Fact number four...I am easily distracted and pretty soon I'm off on a rabbit trail and I'm doing something I wasn't originally setting out to do! lol Like showing you pictures of our new painting projects instead of listing 7 facts. ;) And, I've never been tested for ADD.
- I imagine most people might have trouble coming up with 7 facts, but I could easily do 77, if I could include nonsense like this.
- My kids often know much more than I do. I don't know how they are learning things in Middle School and High School that I barely studied in college! My son was appalled that I could not rattle off all the facts about the Tesla Coils. ???!!!! Forgive me, please! That was when he was in 4th or 5th grade! He knew about them, backward and forward. (I can tell you all about them, now...and will never forget...but, sheesh!) How can Freshmen in High School be in Pre-Physics already? That was not even possible back in the day!
- I absolutely love carrot cake and plan on making some this week with the ALL TIME BEST RECIPE from Healthy Cooking Magazine (as if!) because my kids are on Spring Break (as we have another snow storm) and I want to make something special.
And, it goes so well with the Sienna color we painted the kitchen a few weeks before.
And the kitchen paint matches so well with muted khaki green we painted our entryway with the week before that.
And the entryway matches so well with the Citadel Blue we painted our livingroom with! I really love our blue living room! Especially with the brown leather...don't you think?
I'd love to show you how our blue walls match this one chickadee painting we have, but we're currently painting our bedroom and our doorframes are propped against that wall...and it looks trashy. So...another day. So, I'll show you the corner where we keep our t.v. that we never use now that the basement is finished...
Well, those are my seven facts. I plan on sending these flowers/this award to my five bloggy friends. This is probably my favorite part of the award, because you have to say something personal about your bloggy friends that you're giving the award to. (Probably to prove that you are giving to them for a reason!) So, girls - this is why I'm giving you flowers today. I must say, all of these bloggy friends feel like personal friends to me. I have most of their email addresses and we converse outside of the blogosphere. I have even mailed some of them things. I have received gifts from some of them. The blogosphere has opened up some real friendships to me, and I count these women some of my dear bloggy friends. I wish these were real flowers, ladies! The sentiment is just as real!:
Helga @ My World is currently moving from Iceland to North Carolina! Last year, she moved from Chicago to Iceland. She's had a tough year, and she could use some flowers! Helga and I have been bloggy buddies for a few years now, and have seen each other through sickness and health, good times and bad...it sounds like we could be married by now, doesn't it?! ;) Anyone who has to do that much traveling deserves flowers!Jen @ 3 Little Monkeys is a GREAT MOM who lives in Canada and is also in the process of moving (this is a theme here?). She is only moving a short ways away, though - whew! - not across the world....which I'm sure she's glad about... :) We are both bloggy buddies with Helga and have been cheering her on! But, Jen is a fitness buff and has a rockin' body and has been featured in a fitness video...way to go, Jen! She's our go-to gal for all things healthy cooking related...for that kind of support, I award her these flowers.
Jenn (once known as "Just Jenn" to tell her apart from all other Jens) @ Seizing My Day lives in Washington and is enjoying a lot less snow than I am right now...and I am very jealous of her for it! She home schools one of her children, and loves to cook and bake. She's also really crafty, and has a very naughty, but extremely cute dog named Merlin. But, this year she's taken on a project where she takes one picture a day and posts them at the end of the week. It's a great idea! She's quite the photographer...so, that's why she gets these flowers - for going after her love of photography.
Karen @ Life Is What You Make It is a fellow Women's Ministry Leader, so we share ideas for Women's events often! She lives in South Africa, and I love reading about her experiences and thoughts. Any woman in ministry deserves flowers!
And then there's CM at A Little Lilac. She's a rare woman who encourages the dreams of her children and her husband, but also allows herself to delve into her own dreams - writing and photography. You read her posts and you get a glimpse into her heart. You feel as though she is the friend next door. For that, she gets flowers.
I'd love to read their 7 facts. And, I know if you skip over to their blogs, you'll really enjoy them, too. If you haven't been picked, please know that I could only choose 5 bloggy friends and I would love to know about your 7 anyhow! Leave them in the comments;)
Have a great Monday!
