It's Monday once again! How was your weekend? We are up and at 'em...finally! This daylight savings time is KILLING ME! Well, that and the fact that last week the kids had spring break...so we were sleeping late.
And now? Ugh! I've been a bum for a week and now it's up at 5am...
and walk the dog at 5:30...
which was 4:30 last week (because it's daylight savings time)...
in the cold and snow...
boo hoo hoo...
So - I did what any sane person would do and when the kids got on the bus at 6:45, I crawled back into bed...
Until Heather texted me and asked if we had Book Club today.
*check the planner...shoot! We do!*
I texted back that we did, but I was skipping (the bed felt so warm!).
Heather was looking for an excuse to skip, anyhow...she has a busy day!
Friday, my baby turns 14! I can hardly believe it!
You know what else I can hardly believe?
That I agreed to take her and her two besties to a waterpark hotel Sat-Sun!
(That's a big part of her birthday gift!)
I only agreed because her besties are two WONDERFUL girlies and we're going to our old hometown for the bash...hopefully I can get Cathy to come keep me company for a few hours...
...and I thought it would be a great way to usher in her 14th...she really is a great kid! And all three of those girls are REALLY well behaved! We always have fun (even me!) when they come over and spend an extended amount of time at our place, so I know this weekend will be a blast! I plan on bringing a heap of junk food and we'll have a grand old time! Lots of girlie time. That's always a stitch!
Hopefully I'll remember my camera! (But, I won't post any pics...sorry! Not sure if the girls' parents would be good with that...and three teenie boppers in swimsuits? Not!)
Bridgette's birthday is also one of my sister's birthdays. Lori will be an undisclosed age (she'll probably tar and feather me if I post it and she finds out) but let's just say I'm the little sister (#4) and have three older sisters. Lori is #3 sister. She lives on the west coast, so I have to get her gift today and mail it to her.
I'm doing my weekly planning today. Trying to plan meals, though I'm moving kind of slow and that may be postponed until tomorrow. We're having herbed beef (actually elk, not beef - but the recipe is for beef) over noodles today...the elk is going in the crockpot very soon! I am caught up on laundry, but want to save my ironing for Friday because my sis Deanna has off on Friday and so I can call her and talk while I iron. :) We usually talk once a week for an hour and a half or two. She lives about 5 hours away. We're really close. She and my other sis Lynda live about 45 minutes from each other and they were texting me pictures all weekened and making me jealous...they were wrapping a gift for Lori's bday and sending it off, and then they were playing "Boggle" (it's a word game). It's our favorite game to play as sisters. I am the Boggle champ. I always win. So, they were texting me pics all Saturday telling me who was winning and I was wishing I was with them, because I was just doing stupid housework and being lonely because Mike was working all day at the office! (Don't you feel sorry for me?)
My line up for this week: Tuesday night I have cell group, which is a group of couples who get together to discuss topics that relate to Christianity. It sounds really "churchy," but it's really probably not what you're picturing. They're a good mix of professional couples and we're studying a new topic...we've got some DVD's we've just purchased about science, I believe...I didn't order them, so I'm not sure - we're introducing a new topic, anyhow. It's always interesting.
Wednesday: SAMmy's, as usual.
Thursday: Thursday Girls in the morning, as usual.
Friday: Bridgette's birthday...the tradition is birthday cake for breakfast, so she has chosen Meringue Berry Pie...so I need to make that Thursday night! Then, dinner and a movie!
Saturday & Sunday: The big waterpark party overnight!

so I am guessing your little darling starts HS next year?? my baby is going to be in MIDDLE school next year and I am dying!! =) def. smart to keep that party pictureless from this ugly world wide web!! ha ha!! Happy Birthday Bridgett! did I spell that right? =) Happy Birthday to your sister too... my sisters and I are so mean that way too... torturing each other when two are gathered without the 3rd!! ha ha!! I think you should wrap up yourself as a birthday pressie for your west coast sister... b/c then WE could meet up!!! =) oh... is that selfish!?? ha ha! We are kinda sort of slow M-W... but Thurs/Fri are SO full it is crazy!! =) ps I went back to sleep this morning on the couch!! ha ha!~ didn't help I had coffee last night and couldn't fall asleep! *sigh* =)
Wow, 14 seems like such a defying year for some reason. Am I thinking you'll be at Metropolis this w/e? We haven't been there yet, but hear it's a nice way to spend the day.

Yes, this time change really effects things...however, I love having that extra hour of sunshine each night ;)
