Finally...I'm Popular!

Last night, I was driving Aaron to the department store to get the zipper front sweatshirts he's been bugging me about. We had to do it last night, in between me running Bridgette to youth group, after he got home from Karate, before I had to pick Bridgette UP from youth group...I'm sure your evenings look like this? Rush, rush, rush...
While we were driving, in between our conversation, Aaron was texting one of his friends. Keiran? Kelsie? Leah? Tyler? Leo? Who knows? I have a hunch it was one of the girls. (Not girlfriends, Mom...girl FRIENDS...)
About 7 or 8 of Aaron's fellow sophomore friends (boys and girls) are coming over Friday night for another pizza and movie night (like they do many Fridays...our house is the hang-out house of choice), but I am going away for the weekend with a girlfriend - so, Mike is on his own...It may be a culture shock.
Aaron was texting somebody on the drive last night, and he looks up and asks me, "When will you be home on Friday?" I chuckled and told him I was going to be introducing my friend Melissa (a cake and cupcake maker) to our friend Amy (a chef who owns a great retreat out in the woods several hours away). "But when will you be home?" I laughed and told him that he knew where Amy lived...hours away! Melissa and I would be gone all weekend. I asked why he was asking. He looked at his cellphone and said that his friends really liked me.
That's when it hit me. Whoever he was texting wanted to know if I'd be there Friday night.
Awwww...
I suspect it was one of the girls.
I joked that I could call him on his cell Friday night and he could put me on speaker phone and I could say "Hi" to everyone.
He said, "Okay, if you could..."
Oh. My. Gosh.
I really want to adopt all 7 or 8 of them.
Now.
I am finally popular with the high school crowd. It only took 26 years!

Awe!!!! Most of my kids friends think we're either the meanest parents in town or kind of weird...
Kudos to you!
