It happened this morning.
And it was my doing.
Luckily nobody was around to witness, or I never would have heard the end of it!
We've been living in squalor...seriously.
Sawdust and stacked wood on the living room rug.
Mike just hauled the circular saw back to his workshop in the basement.
I've been promised that the living room will be back to normal by the end of the week.
It's been this way for a few weeks - what's a few more days?
Right?
We have some gorgeous tile in the entry way, laundry room and main bath and a beautiful wood floor kitchen.
I have to give Mike that - he is the handiest man I know...and a perfectionist to boot...so it's always PERFECT (which is why it takes so long).
Take my kitchen floor...
perfect. Beautiful. I'll post pictures when I get around to taking them. I mean beautiful!
We've been telling everyone - Careful! No high heels! (That was Mike's rule.)
I had to clip Angel's claws. (They were a little long...)
We put felt on the bottom of the chairs, the stools, the baker's rack, table legs...even my potato and onion baskets! We WILL NOT scratch this floor!!!
I have been careful to have the kids wipe up droplets of water when emptying and filling the dishwasher and filling their glasses at the automatic ice maker/water spout on the fridge.
And then, just now...
SPLAT!!!
I was stirring granola into my Greek yogurt for lunch....
...not sure how it happened...
...but a BIG glob fell, along with the spoon...
SPLAT!!!
ALL OVER THE WOOD FLOOR...
and up the cabinet...
and onto the stainless steel fridge.
Ugh!
Well, at least it was me and not the kids.
I won't spaz the next time it happens.
I've already got my spaz out...

Granola doesn't scratch... does it??! But yuck!! At least you didn't smack a bottle of wine on it. That could leave a mark.
What we don't want the most, will happen, because it is on or mind, and we have put it out there into the Universe.... sounds like quite a mess, have enjoyed catching up, have been out of the blogging world for a while, will be "stealing" some of your ideas again this year.
i love the word Spaz... =) and there is this amazing stuff called restore a finish... comes in a bottle for like $5.99... home depot... IF a tiny scratch or a not so tiny scratch happens... then you can have it on hand... you steal wool it on the spot and it blends right in to the floor... its an IF situation... ya know?? =) Oh... and don't pass out that I am in the land of blog today! first time in weeks!! =)
