Sunday Drivin'

It has been a gorgeous day here! A glorious Saturday! Yesterday, the kids had off school. I had a bunch of errands to run.
There were groceries that needed to be picked up.
The bank.
Passport photos to be taken for me & the kids. (Don't get too jealous...Canada...this summer...just a run through on the way to Maine...)
To the Government Center to get passports.
And Aaron to the DMV for a driver's test.
!!!!????

Yep. My baby boy got his license!
A 16 year old boy with his passport to freedom.
Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking that we have to watch ourselves now. I know our insurance is going to skyrocket. Boy. 16. Luckily, his grades are good.
He's not getting a car for a while. He is resistant to getting a job until the summer...which is okay because he needs to keep those grades up. (We need that insurance cost to stay down!)
I know you're thinking he'll be hot-roddin' it all over town.
You'd think so.
Except, he won't.
No...really.
He doesn't like to drive. Getting him to practice was like pulling teeth.
Awful.
He tried getting out of having to drive home from the DMV after he got his license.
I made him drive home.
Sheesh! I want him to get in his practice...I have plans for him...I have visions of him running errands for me!
But, I know that deep down he is proud.
And happy that I MADE him practice and FORCED him to go out all week with me and drive around town.
That's what moms are for, I guess.
They know what's good for you.

Congrats to Aaron on his license. Sarah didn't want to get her's right away either, but now she's had it for 4 months and she loves it. Actually by the time she went for her license, she really wanted it. And yes, I send her out on errands all the time. :)

Too bad you aren't coming up this way ;) Congrats to Aaron on his drivers license! Just thinking about my boys driving one day gives me more grey hairs!

Congrats! Kobi has had her DL for a couple months now... It's a very stressful time when she leaves the house now.

I vow one day to visit Maine again(I lived there for 6 years as a child). I want to go visit the towns I lived in and see how it compares to my memories.(If that makes sense)

Congrats to him!

When I got my drivers license, a friend gave me a card that read.
"Congrats on your license! The roads are now safe"
"Because you can't stay on them!" (inside)
