A Weekend To Relax

I don't know about you, but things around the Bixler house lately have been work, work, work! We've enjoyed our weekends lately, don't get me wrong - but there's been a lot of digging and replanting going on around here (and A LOT of watering - we need rain!). It's been fun, but it's been W-O-R-K. We were in need of some F-U-N.

So, last weekend, we launched the boat, and had a windy but wonderful time fishing with the fam - we even got Mike's brother and his family to join us out on the lake and then had pizza together afterwards.

Aaron's helping his dad get the boat hooked up to the truck, so we can make the trek to the lake.

Angel eats grubs and worms out of our yard every day, so the worm on my hook is looking pretty tasty to her. We had to make sure she didn't get close to the hooks - but, she was pretty interested in the worms dangling off the end of our poles!

I am proud to say I caught the first bluegill of the season! :) However, I caught no more after that, but that's okay...Mike happily caught the rest...and he deserved it...he's been working really hard lately! And, I enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the playful conversation we shared as a family, and watching Angel (our dog) wait in eager anticipation for us to reel in our bobbers so she could "kiss a fish" (it's a tradition - that's what she does - she kisses the fish before we put them in the live-well or basket - we started that last year when she was just a few months old...I think she remembered it, because she was eager to "kiss"!).

Angel "kisses the fish" before it gets put in the basket. She now takes this job seriously and stands by as they are brought into the boat.

What will you do to enjoy your family next weekend?
